Back & Neck Injuries
At Advanced Physiotherapy, we have successfully managed over 2000 cases of low back pain, neck pain, and thoracic pain over the last 10 years. We use evidence-based diagnosis and treatment methods.
The treatment for back and neck pain can include:
- Massage
- Support Bracing
- Manual Therapy (a gentle hands-on treatment designed to improve joint movement)
- Postural Correction
- Ergonomic Correction
- Corrective Exercises
- Strength and Conditioning
- Dry Needling
Treatment is gentle, safe and will often result in immediate improvement of your symptoms. Typically, we combine different modalities to achieve optimal results. The cause of many problems is multifactorial, so treatment usually has to focus on several different methods.
We have several physiotherapists who have formal post-graduate training in manual therapy. This is conducted in the clinic in private treatment rooms. A typical session will take 30 minutes.
Evidence demonstrated in the below clinical studies shows that Physiotherapy can enhance recovery and provide pain relief in disorders including:
- Osteoarthritis
- Neck Pain
- Back Pain
In a review of the literature undertaken by the 'Task Force on Neck Pain & Its Associated Disorders' it has been concluded that therapies involving manual therapy and exercise are more effective than alternative strategies for patients with neck pain.
The Ottawa evidence-based clinical practice guidelines for therapeutic exercises and manual therapy in the management of osteoarthritis stated that “the use of therapeutic exercises alone or in combination with manual therapy is recommended for managing patients with osteoarthritis.”
