Meet the Team

Advanced Physio's Newcastle clinic has both male and female physiotherapists who undertake regular ongoing education to ensure that they have high levels of theoretical knowledge as well as great clinical skills. Each physiotherapist has a variety of specialised skills.

Jaclyn Allen

jaclyn allanJaclyn has been a part of our team since early 2011. She graduated from Newcastle University with honours in 2009. Her thesis on the biomechanics of lifting was published in 2011. She comes from a competitive sporting background playing representative basketball for NSW country, Newcastle Hunters and the University of Newcastle. She also enjoys netball, touch football, running and grew up waterskiing and wakeboarding.

Jaclyn is the current physiotherapist for the Newcastle Jets Women A-league soccer team. She has also worked with sporting teams such as the Australian Institute of Sport youth soccer team, Newcastle Knights junior team, NSWIS soccer, NSW country basketball championships, NBN soccer clubs (Broadmeadow Magic and Edgeworth Eagles) and Hunter Academy of Sport. Jaclyn was appointed as the Physiotherapist to the mini matildas which is the under 17s Australian National women’s soccer team. 

Evan Armstrong

evanarmstrong22Evan has a keen interest in strength and conditioning and promoting physical activity and health for all ages. He has a particular interest in knee, hip and shoulder health, including cervical related headaches and children’s sport. His final Masters of Physiotherapy paper was on progressing squat depth and he is a member of the Australian Strength and Conditioning Association.  

His main sports involvement has been with Australian Rules Football, where he acted as a senior player management consultant. 

Evan comes from a background of school teaching, where he taught across several schools, including special needs and high school. He majored in physical education and English, also teaching science and outdoor education, before deciding to focus on physiotherapy as a challenging and rewarding career path.   

Evan enjoys helping others realise their goals and be their best selves, finding great contentment in working with a range of people and presentations. 

He enjoys studying wellness and mindfulness, believing strongly in facilitating the healing of the whole person and their unique characteristics. 

Originally from southern Victoria's Mornington Peninsula, Evan loves all things coastal. He barracks for the mighty Cats in the AFL and has adopted the Newcastle Jets and Knights in the other codes. He enjoys weight training, bush walking and swimming. Evan likes to unwind with all types of music and reading biographies and the Sunday paper.     

Cameron Bulluss


Cameron started this clinic in the year 2000 and has seen it grow from a small clinic in a suburban gym, to its current status as the Centre of Excellence for Physiotherapy in the Newcastle-Hunter region. He has been practicing as a Physiotherapist since 1989. He has additional qualifications in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy and is a Titled APA Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist.

He has a particular interest in the management of lower limb pain and injury including osteoarthritis of the knee, ankle and foot, and ligament injuries to the ankle, foot and knee. He also has an interest in neck pain and neck induced headaches, termed cervicogenic headaches.

Cameron was the Chairman of the Australian Physiotherapy Association business chapter between 2011 and 2014. 

Robert Dingle


Robert started his career at Advanced 2007. He was recruited by the Newcastle Jets and after a 4 year successful stint in professional sport as the Head of Physiotherapy and Medical Services, has returned here to continue his career. He brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience from professional sport.

Jessica Dingle

jessJessica Dingle has been with us since the start of 2013 after graduating from Newcastle University with Distinction. Jess has a background in national and international level swimming, competing in Australian Championships and Olympic and Commonwealth Games trials. Her pet events were the 200m Butterfly and 200m Individual Medley. In addition, she has over 8 years experience as a qualified professional trainer and gym instructor and continues to train most days of the week herself. Jess has had experience with the Newcastle Jets Women's A-League Team and the Emerging Newcastle Jets Soccer Team. 

Chris Hook

Chris completed his studies at Newcastle University in in 2016, following previously completing an exercise and sports science degree in America. Whilst at university Chris worked as a personal trainer focusing on strength and condition and rehabilitation where he worked with a number of athletes that have gone on to represent their state and Australia, as well as playing professionally overseas.

In his last year of university he undertook a yearlong placement with the Newcastle Knights 1st grade squad, he has also worked as a sports trainer for a number of local soccer and AFL teams. He has a keen interest in sports which goes back to his own achievements earning a sporting scholarship to play baseball in the USA at college whilst studying his first degree.

From this he has a keen interest in shoulders particularly throwing injuries and rehabilitating gym injuries.

Owen James

OwenJames22Owen joined the team after completing his undergraduate studies at the University of Newcastle in 2016. Whist at university Owen gained extra experience working as a sports trainer with a local soccer team and attending a local rugby team training sessions. In his last year of university he was exposed to a variety of unique placements that included working in an emergency department where he gained experience in the assessment and management of acute soft tissue injuries and fractures. He also had a placement at a chronic pain service where he learned the importance of a holistic treatment approach that treats the individual as a whole.

Owen comes from a sporting background playing AFL for a local team and playing in Newcastle and Northern NSW representative AFL teams. He has also has played many other ball sports growing up including cricket, basketball and tennis.

Nicole Kent

Nicole Kent finalNicole joined our team in 2016, she comes with 5 years’ experience as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist. Her education background includes Bachelor of Exercise Science and Sports Management and Masters of Clinical Exercise Physiology. 

Her clinical expertise includes the delivery of exercise, lifestyle and behavioural modification programs for the prevention and management of chronic and complex medical conditions with friendly guidance and helpful encouragement.



Matt Kent

matt1Matthew has been part of our team since early 2012. Matthew has completed a Masters of Clinical Exercise Physiology from Southern Cross University. Matthew is also dedicated to his sport, representing regionally in basketball as a player, coach and referee. Matt has chosen a career that focuses on his passion for injury prevention and disease prevention. This includes a special interest in occupational injury prevention, and rehabilitation.
